Inner Mechanics

 

3D Printed & Hardware Parts

Plunger
A precision sliding component that pushes the marker upward by moving vertically along the slot’s guiding track. It delivers smooth, controlled motion for easy marker retrieval.
Rotor
A rotating mechanism powered by spring tension, featuring gear-like teeth that interlock with the plunger. This interaction enables the smooth retractable motion of the system.
Housing
The main body of the organizer, containing all marker slots and serving as the mounting frame for the retractable mechanism. Strong, stable, and designed for modular expansion.
Topping
(Optional) An aesthetic add-on that elevates the product’s overall appeal. You could use it without one… but why miss out on the extra style and charm? 😘
Bottom Cover
The base plate that locks the springs and internal mechanisms securely in place, ensuring everything stays aligned and operates reliably.
Springs
4 mm diameter, 20–25 mm length coil springs—perfectly suited for the plunger’s upward motion. You can even repurpose springs from empty ballpoint pens.
Screws
M3 self-tapping screws, 10 mm in length, used to firmly assemble the entire structure for a stable and long-lasting build.
Grease
High-quality silicone lubricant applied to the mechanism for essential smooth operation, reduced wear, and a satisfying, friction-free feel.

 

Assembly steps

[NOTE] ⚠️ The number of 3D printed parts, springs and screws depends on each individual’s configuration adjustments. Please take care when counting the quantities.

Tips & Tricks

  • Apply lubricant grease to the surfaces of the rotor and plunger. Ensuring these surfaces are properly treated is crucial to prevent the mechanism from stuck.
