Butterfly key cover

Adjustable butterfly key cover, with ring insert and see through

• Short version: for keys with a maximum length of 60mm and 2.6mm max thickness (The total thickness of the cover is 13.5mm). Use M2x14mm Flat Head Cap Machine Screws AA181 + M2 hex nuts AB003.
• Long version: for keys with a maximum length of 80mm and 6.5mm max thickness (The total thickness of the cover is 17.5mm). Use 
• M2x18mm Flat Head Cap Machine Screws AA182 + M2 hex nuts AB003.

Assembly (example colors):

1/ Front : secure the key inside the green supports with a bolt and screw (green dots) the protrusions should point outwards. Add the spacing.

2/ Left handle : Secure the red top and bottom handle with the Front assembly, add a bolt and a screw (red dots in front). Add one of the biggest back spacer and shorter one (red dots in back).

3/ Repeat step 2 for the yellow handle.

4/ Tighten the screws to your liking, suggestion: loose for the front rotating part of the handles. Tight for the key and back of the handles. 

 

 

Need a bigger spacing for thicker keys?

Go to objects and use the scale tool on the Z axis of the 3 objects that are part of : “key-thickness-spacers” (on the top of the plate), uncheck uniform scale and change the size. (Beware you may need different M2 screws length).

 

 

The dual color profile should be simple to print without a AMS, just add a pause when the color change and print the pieces with the same colors on a different plate.
