Description
Stumbled across another model that used the same source material but I wanted to make something radically different as a first day of school gift so did my own conversion and drew some walls around it… a few hours later it had actually printed quite nicely so I figured I'd share! Can be hung from a screw/nail/pushpin or simply stood up on it's own.
Prints face-down and only has support for the keyhole hanger. This you can just rip out with some pliers, but using breakaway material will make it easier to remove. If you're running an X1C and enable the pre-print PA tuning it will scar the model (so either don't or quickly peel it up).
Plate 1 - Configured with a single pause to change from the digits to the frame. This is the non-AMS version where you have to assign both materials to external then confirm the warning about how the printer won't pause - but that's OK because I've already added the pause 😁
Plate 2 is the same as Plate 1, but without the pause so a printer with an AMS will print it without stopping. You could also enable breakaway supports for this plate if desired.
Plate 3 was my last-minute “I wonder if…” where I cut the bottom three layers separate and assigned this silver, leaving the remainder of the digits white then the frame black. Just something for a little extra contrast… you can adjust this by changing the material of “Digits - First Layers."
Colored just for visibility in this screenshot
Since you should be using your own material profiles, make sure to double-check the positioning of the prime tower (or just turn it off all together if you'd like, it's really not necessary). A sparkling-clean build plate will be necessary. Do not enable auto supports, you do not need any on the body at all.
