Overview
This parametric model is designed to mount just about any 3D Model, to openGrid board system . The model generates a 3D object that is made of a back plate with connectors, a bottom plate, and up to four brackets to strengthen the mounting. The assembled model can be combined in slicer software with any 3D model, making it mountable on openGrid.
This model can be used with any 3D model - worth noting "MakerWorld's “Make My Desk Organizer” in case you are not familiar with it, which together with this will allow you to design very easily custom trays for your openGrid.
Usage Instructions
- Configure Parameters:
- Choose the appropriate connector type you would like to use.
- Adjust the dimensions of the back plate, bottom plate, and most importantly the brackets as needed.
- Adjust any other parameters to your liking, specifically always consider the vertical print options
- Generate Mount STL:
- Use the provided parameters to generate the Mount 3D model in OpenSCAD and download the STL file.
- Assemble in Slicer:
- Import both the model you want to attach and the generated mount model into your slicer software.
- In your slicer software (e.g., Bambu Studio, Orca or other):
- If required use the ‘Cut’ tool to remove any connectors to other boards already there (many models for HSW, Multiboard, Skadis are available, so you can adapt them to openGrid)
- Assemble / Merge them using the slicer software and orient them so the connectors properly align for installation as you want.
- Print: Send the assembled model to your 3D printer.
