Description
This is a reverse motor mount for the Furitek Mini Komodo brushless motor.
I didnt like how big the Furitek Stellar transmission shroud is and wanted a more compact solution for builds with very short front suspension links where space is limited and the motor would touch the servo.
This will also help a little bit with front driveshaft angle because the front transmission output shaft is moved further backwards compared to the original.
If you use a standard SCX24 skid, the motor will be facing backwards but the idea is to use a skid which can be flipped, so the motor will point forwards again.
The fitment and clearance is made for the standard Axial spur gear so it fits on all standard style SCX24 transmissions (Axial, Injora, Furitek etc.) and the pinion gear is the 16T gear that comes standard with the Furitek Mini Komodo.
You need to flip the motor pinion gear around so the screw keeping it in place has enough clearance and doesnt come into contact with the spur gear.
You will also need to have the pinion gear sticking out from the motorshaft about 1mm, so the full width of the pinion and spur gear are in contact with each other (see 2. last picture).
Before mounting the motor, check if the cable opposite to the plug cable has enough clearance to be mounted flat, it is possible that you have to push the cable back a bit with some force but be carefull to not damage the isolation (see last picture).
For mounting the motor you will need at least 2 M2*6 or M2*7 but i suggest to use 4 M2*7 screws.
Added Fusion 360 file in case anyone wants to change something.
