Description

These are wheel/tire inserts for Injora 1.3" rims and Injora 68mm-72mm tires designed to be printed in TPU-87A.

 

They have an alternative pattern compared to my other wheel/tire inserts and i took some inspiration for this new pattern from the Injora Silicone inserts.

Compared to my other inserts these trade some stability for more squish and are a bit softer in all regards/force directions but they are also more predictable because there are a lot more spokes so the forces are much more evenly distributed.

 

The insert has an outer diameter of 63mm and a width of 20mm, the inner diameter is 36.6mm to have slight press fit on the Injora rims which have an outer ring diameter of 36.7 mm but without preloading the insert.

 

These inserts were tested with Injora's 1.3" XHX Pin tires, i cant say much about fitment with other tires but taking Injora's tire list as reference from their inserts, they should probably also fit these tires:

  • 72*24mm XHX Pin Tires
  • 70*26mm Crawler Tires
  • 70*27mm King Trekker Tires
  • 70*27mm Swamp Claw Tires
  • 70*26mm Cling On Tires
  • 70*26mm MAVERIX Tires
  • 68*24mm Gripmax Tires

 

I strongly suggest to print them in TPU-87A because the spoke design and the cutouts were designed to work and behave with this softness in mind, harder filaments are not flexible enough, I've tested them in TPU-91A which was already too hard for the inserts to work correct.

They can also be printed in TPU-85A for an even softer insert.

 

No brimm or support needed but you will get a lot of stringing because of the design.

Wall generator needs to be set to Arachne or it wont be able to slice the fine lines correct.

 

For reference, the Crawler in the picture weights about 565g with a 64/36 weight distribution.

 

Added stl, step and Fusion 360 files in case anyone wants to change something.
