Description
(Two new triggers are published. One tapered for live bait and one extra long for longer rods and new rod tip angles
There is also a much stronger version published with 80% Gyroid infil if you feel you need that)
This is a automatic hook setter for when you want to fish without effort. Fool proof so you dont miss when the fish eats your lure. It's a set and forget fishing gear. When the fish bites, the rod flips up and sets the hook.
It is perfect when fishing on the ice, from a boat, a jetty, boat dock or pier with a short rod and a fishing float. Or when using a jig or jigging with a bait. Print several when you want to set several fishing rods and catch a lot of fishes in different places around you.
There are expensive versions of this on the market. This one is free, you print it, set it and prepare your dinner.
It has a few settings so you can tailor it for your rods length. If you are are sport fisherman you know how effective this can be. It also breaks down in small pieces to be super easy to bring on a hike or trip in your backpack.
This also has an extended release function so when the fish eats your lure, it can swim away a feet or two so the hook sets itself from behind. This makes it even more effective.
The main print profile includes everything you need. I recommend you to print a few spare Triggers with different thickness depending on how your rod looks. The triggers are super ease to change when out using it and they are only using a small amount of filament.
Please notice that there are a bunch of different possibilities to set it up for different length rods. You can set the "Trigger" at three heights which enables you to get a different angle on the rods tip compared to the trigger. You can also set the front part where the trigger is attached in different ways to adjust for the rods length. And the front part can also be turned 180 degrees to make it shorter or longer. So you have to try out what is best for your particular rod. These settings decides which force is needed for the trigger to release the tip of the rod. It will become clear when you try. I hope you catch a lot of fish. I have used up to 4 of this sort of equipment at the same time in different holes in the ice. Pretty fun actually. Good luck. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
And Yea, one more thing. The possible "weak" part can be the trigger. So I have made a few different versions with different thickness. The thickness you need is depending on the diameter of the front ring of your rods tip. But print an extra or two as spares when you use it. To change it takes less then 5 seconds. So you can try out different sizes. An extra trigger is only 13 grams.
Print it and please post pictures when using it and of what you are catching with it. Lets start the competition on who catches the biggest fish with this.
