This 3D-printed vacuum pod is designed to securely hold 40 mm coins and medallions during CNC machining. By using vacuum pressure instead of mechanical clamps, the pod keeps your coin flat and stable, reducing vibration and improving engraving, relief carving, and finishing accuracy. Great for custom coins, challenge coins, and precision milling projects.

Requirements:
Minimum 3.5 CFM vacuum pump (works well — I cannot guarantee performance with a lower CFM pump)
Additional hardware:
Rubber O-Ring Sealing Gasket (37 mm OD / 32 mm ID – 2.5 mm width – exact size required)
PC6-01 Push-to-Fit Pneumatic Connector
Teflon Tape
6 mm OD Pneumatic Hose
Accepts up to M6 Screws (I use M5 for my Carvera CNC)
Assembly Notes:
The pneumatic fitting self-threads directly into the pod. Use caution on first install—do not overtighten, as this may crack the pod.
For initial threading, I used a drill with a 5 mm hex bit (3/16" works as well) to cut about 75% of the threads, then finished by hand with a matching Allen key.
Once the initial threading is done, remove the fitting, wrap with Teflon tape, and reinstall by hand—again, without overtightening.
The O-ring must be exact at 37 mm OD / 32 mm ID – 2.5 mm width to ensure an airtight seal.
