Description
This is a 72mm wide pad with a Water Tower on it, which is compatible with Brio, Thomas, Lillabo/Ikea and Sainsmart Jr. wooden train systems. The water ramp snaps on, and can be turned down when a train is underneath.
Note: All parts are glued together.
The Water Tower can be combined with the following models to create a very sophisticated layout:
These designs can be found here: https://makerworld.com/collections/10762447
Plate 1 is a 2 color print: PLA Matte Latte Brown and PLA Gray.
Plate 2 is PLA Matte Desert Tan
Plate 3 is PLA Gray
The following illustration walks through the assembly process for the Water Tower.
Figure 1: Water Tower Assembly
The Water Tower assembly process only requires glue that is compatible with the filament that you use.
Referring to Figure 1 the Water Tower is basically built from the base up.
Run a bead of glue around the top of the Tank then press the Roof onto the Tank.
Fit the Tank Pipe into the Bottom Plate. Then run a bead of glue around the Tank Pipe hole in the Bottom Plate and insert it into the Bottom Plate. The top of the Tank Pipe should be flush with the top of the Bottom Plate when completed.
Note that the Legs are cut at an angle along their tops and bottoms so they can tilt towards the center. Be sure that the Legs are in the correct orientation when glued, see Figure 1. A jig is supplied to help align the legs for gluing. Figure 2 shows the (gray) jig holding the legs in position.
Insert the Inner Legs into the jig, pressing them tight into the jig and pressing the legs up so they are tight against the vertical posts of the jigs. Then press the Outer legs into the jig on either side. Press the second Jig onto the opposite side of the legs. The 2 Jigs should solidly hold the legs at the correct angle and spacing.
Figure 2.: Legs with Jig
Run a bead of glue along the 4 slots in the Base then insert the Legs into the base. The Legs Outer parts are centered by their slots when fit into the slots. Make sure that the edges of the Legs Inner parts are flush with the sides of the Base when inserted. Now run a glue bead across the Leg slots in the Bottom Plate part and fit the Legs into their respective slots. Slide the Bottom Plate on the legs to center it. Wait for the glue to cure before proceeding. Remove the Jigs.
Run a bead of glue around the bottom of the Tank and press it onto the Bottom Plate.
Snap the Ramp onto the Tank Pipe and you are done.
