Description

This remix builds on Skinward’s Creality Space Pi Dual Spool Dryer Mount, originally designed for the Creality Space Pi dual filament dryer.
 

While the holder/mount geometry remains faithful to the original, the plate has been completely redesigned for strength, weight reduction, and visual appeal.

🧩 What’s New

  • Added a large central hexagonal cutout to reduce material use and lighten the overall print without compromising strength.
  • Chamfered short edges for a cleaner, more refined look.
  • Strengthened wall and shell structure for improved rigidity.
  • Hexplate optimized for printability with no supports needed.
  • Hexagons are indeed the bestagons.

🧱 Printing Details

Plate:

  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • 5 walls
  • 5 top / 4 bottom layers (yes, the top is the bottom, and the bottom is the top, and it's that way in the file, put that on your carbon fiber textured plate and print it!)
  • 40 % gyroid infill
  • 2.4 mm thick top plate (likely overkill, likely overrides the 5 top layers, YMMV, change in the object, not the global)
  • Printed in GratKit tri-color PLA (black/purple/blue) — chosen for looks over ultimate strength.

Holder / Mount:

  • 0.2 mm layer height
  • 2 walls
  • 30 % infill (from original profile settings).

⚙️ Notes

While PETG would yield better load-bearing strength and temperature resistance (and could be run at lower infill for similar rigidity), this version focuses on aesthetic quality and stiffness in PLA.
Even with PLA, the plate is solid and quite heavy for its size — intentionally overbuilt for stability.
