Description
This is a remix of the amazing high quality feather board designed by https://makerworld.com/en/@user_3257010834
This was the best one I could find out there. I liked this design a lot, but I just felt it could be a little safer considering it was so open in the middle. I added 2 simple cross bars diagonally to add more rigidity in case of a kickback. I also added a few modifiers to the frame and the thin rip guide pieces. I used honeycomb infill at 25% for strength. On the frame, the modifier ups the infill to 50% around the areas where the teeth attach since that area is a bit thinner. I also upped the infill to 50% on the thin rip guide pieces.
The teeth are done in TPU for flexibility. I did these with 20% infill using triangles. If you want them to be softer or stiffer, just change the infill % higher or lower in Bambu Studio. I found 20% good for my taste. I just used cheap Jayo brand TPU for mine and they turned out perfect. I also made these at 101.5% scale to the original for a very nice tight fit without having to force them in.
I added a sled and the hardware to be able to use this with my Dewalt DWE74911 Portable 10" table saw. This should also work with other table saws, but may need adjustments for your needs. I made it so the bolt will stay in place and be able to tighten the screws from the top. There is also a pause for this plate at layer 26 where you will need to add the nut and then continue printing. I took a picture of the exact screws and nuts that I used and it is posted above. The screws are ¼" x 2" with a tapered flat head. The sled is 21.7mm wide and can expand slightly by tightening the nuts.
I did spend a lot of time trying to perfect this print for my needs, but appreciate any feedback or necessary changes you may come across. Please don't hesitate to reach out.
