Description
I love ornaments that let me display treasured family photos on our tree! I created an Gingerbread House Family Photo Ornament that:
You can change the names in the slicer software (look for the objects marked “EDIT HERE”) or add totally unique words for your ornament. The fonts I used are all Google Fonts and are freely available. Sturdy fonts like Rum Raisin (The Johnson Family), Pacifico (The Smiths) and bolded Shadows into Light Two (Our Family) print well with a 0.4mm nozzle (although they will look best with the smaller one), while more delicate fonts like Satisfy (The Anderson Family) are best printed with a 0.2mm nozzle. To save time, you can always print the “top” piece with my 0.2mm and the rest with the 0.4mm. There are profiles for each size nozzle.
Here's a quick video showing the assembly process. You will need the printed parts, your photo, and a few drops of superglue. It's simple, just glue the front to the back (the dimples will help you get perfect alignment). Then pop in your photo and the back piece.
If desired, you can use thin cuttable plexiglass to add a “glass” front (available on Amazon or at any craft store), but I find it works fine without.
