Printing
Each .3MF comes in two parts:
Faceplate.step: Meant to be printed on 3D effect plates (carbon fiber, diamond, etc). Also holds the NFC stickers and magnets.
Case.step: Engineering plate reccomended for laser engraving.
It is also recommended to print several at a time as usually a few won't turn out good due to adhesion, hotspots, etc. The included .3MF optimises print speed with variable layer height on surfaces that will be hidden. 0.1mm layer height is recommended for the first few layers to reduce visible gaps on the surface.
Assembly
Superglue is required. These come in 2 different variants, KeychainCutting.3mf has a slightly taller Case.step to accodate a thin piece of PU leather to sit flush. Faceplate.step are interchangeable between all files. Simply add a dab of glue to magnet holes, insert the magnets and NFC sticker, and apply another thin layer on the other side. Finally stick the two halves together and apply even pressure for a few seconds.
Notes on Laser Engraving & Cutting
A 3D printed Jig is available for the xTool F1 to help with batch production. Print out KeychainJig.step. Import JigOutline.dxf to xTool Creative Studio and center it. Eveything should be perfectly aligned. Otherwise, FaceplateOutline.dxf and CaseOutline.dxf can be used to create your own jigs and for alignment.
