Description
Announcing the arrival of the supersonic nuclear bomber, the XB-70 Valkyrie!
The XB-70 was an American-built nuclear bomber designed to deliver a decisive strike deep into the Soviet Union. The XB-70, known as the Valkyrie, relied on overwhelming supersonic speeds to make it difficult for the opposition to mount a response. The Valkyrie was designed to cruise at speeds more than Mach 3 at altitudes greater than 70,000 ft.
The introduction of the surface-to-air missile rendered the mission of the XB-70 impractical, so only 2 were ever built. One of the two met with disaster and was destroyed after an in-air collision with a fighter jet flying in formation with it.

Print notes:
The model is easy to assemble and can be printed entirely without supports. The parts are designed to be snap-fit, but a small amount of glue can be added to strengthen the hold if desired.
I am aware that the real XB-70 had folding wingtips. I desperately wanted to include them in this model, but it didn’t make sense at this scale. For reasons like this I have been contemplating working on some bigger, more complex models.
Notes from the designer:
I have thoroughly enjoyed making these models and hope to add many more! I have been considering branching out to different projects or more complex models. If you have ideas or suggestions, feel free to leave a comment!
Additionally, if you experience any issues with this model or the print profile, please comment. I try to assist where I am able.
I love to see my models enjoyed, so please consider posting pictures of your build! If you comment with the printer that you used I will try to make sure I am accommodating the different printer models in future designs.
