Description

This is my entry for the Vortek Design Challenge. Santa is quite a difficult model for multicolor printing because he has color changes on practically every layer. I printed him on the X1 Carbon and, as you can see in the photo, there were many filament swaps.

When printing this Santa, I used 3 colors to make the printing faster. However, the print profile also includes a 5 color version.

In the profile, Santa comes in two positions horizontal and vertical. The horizontal one prints faster, but the front of Santa doesn’t look as good although this isn’t visible when he’s hanging. The vertical position takes much longer to print, but the whole model looks good.

Santa can hang by his own hands, but his lower boot must rest against a vertical surface, just like in the photos. If you want him to hang from a narrow shelf, you need to secure him somehow, for example with modeling clay or small pieces of double sided tape.

Have Fun :)
