Printing without AMS
The first step to print without an AMS is to edit your filament settings. Go to the advanced options and add the following G-code:
M400 U1 → This command makes the printer finish its last movement and then pause. The pause position is set in the purge area, allowing you to unload and load filament manually using the printer menu or Bambu Studio.
You can save this preset under a custom name (for example, “Multi”) to reuse it for other prints. Make sure you add this G-code to all colors you plan to use. In my case, I used four filaments — two from one brand and two from another — and simply reused the same setup.

Avoiding color swap drops
After several test prints, I noticed a small drop forming right after each pause. The nozzle briefly returns to the last printed point, leaving a tiny blob that becomes visible after a color change.
My quick fix was to add four small disks (one per color), each matching the thickness of the color layers. I placed them so that these disks always print last. That way, any drop after a color swap happens on the disk, not on the keychains (see the left side of the build plate).
Other printing tips
I also used a first layer flow rate of 120-130% and a slightly thicker initial layer width(0.54-0.58 mm) to fully close any tiny gaps on the first layer. Check the photos for the final results — I’m quite happy with them, and the kids loved receiving their keychains at the birthday party!
For the keyrings, I used swivel rings I bought online (I found mine on AliExpress, but similar ones are available elsewhere). I also linked to the Bambu Store rings — if you use those, you might need to slightly move the cylinder (the negative part that forms the hole) upward to prevent the small ring from getting stuck.
Hope you like it — have fun printing! :)
