Description

Cloud | Shinra | Avalanche | Nostalgia

A Final Fantasy VII tribute edition of my original Ultimate lockable Commander deck box — rebuilt as a display-grade collector piece.

This isn’t just a skin. It’s a full visual re-build around one of the most iconic worlds in gaming. Designed for players who want their Commander deck to look as legendary as the cards inside it.

What makes this edition special

⚔️ 3D Buster Sword Lid Motif

A raised, layered Buster Sword emblem mounts directly onto the lid, transforming the box into a physical display object — not just storage. It prints separately and is designed to attached cleanly to the front of the top lid. (Requires glue — see tips)

🟥 Shinra & Avalanche Side Panels

This edition includes two exclusive side panels:

  • Shinra logo panel
  • Avalanche graffiti logo panel

They slot into the recessed wall panels perfectly and give the box a true FFVII identity from every angle. (Requires glue — see tips)

The rear panel is a little bonus to help restore that sense of nostalgia.

🧿 Special Edition Materia Lock Orbs

The locking slider on this edition supports two insertable Materia orbs — small spherical accent pieces that press-fit into the lock body. Print them in translucent, glow, or silk filaments for best effect. I've not glued my test prints and don't feel I need to, but your opinion may vary.

The Box Itself

  • Holds a full single sleeved Commander deck + token cards / Some snug double sleeved decks without tokens
  • Positive-lock sliding lid (no magnets, no flexy clips) — the PLA relaxing and wearing only improves the lock feel
  • Multi-walled, high-strength body built to last
  • Built as a structural object, not a lightweight shell

This is still the same brutally strong, over-engineered box — now rebuilt as a display-grade collector's edition.

Printing Notes & Assembly Tips

This model makes use of the exact same components just like the original Ultimate Lockable MTG Commander Deck Box however certain components have been modified to suit this themed deck box. My standard deck box is not a quick print and this will take considerably longer but as you can see from the photos. Your dedication and patience will be rewarded.

  • Outer Deck Box Structure
  • Inner Deck Box
  • Deck Box Lid
  • Lock Slider with Materia Orbs
  • Inner Card Box that doubles as a table card caddy
  • Shinra Left Side Panel
  • Avalanche Right Side Panel
  • Buster Sword lid motif

On my demo print in the photos I used eight PLA filaments. Silver (Silk), Navy Blue (Matte), Dark Red, Translucent Teal, Copper (Silk), Black Walnut (Wood), Dark Grey and White.

I would recommend you print this with quality in mind. If time is an issue for you, find another deck box as this isn't for you. I sincerely recommend printing no faster than:

Inner walls - 60 mm/s

Outer Walls - 150 mm/s

Regardless of whether you have an X1C, P2S or A1 Mini. The finish is much, much better.

To affix the the buster sword, side and rear panels to the outer deck box just use super glue. I would personally recommend Loctite's Super Glue Power Gel or any other Super Glue Gel that provides stickiness and allows time to set. This will provide you time to get positioning eye perfect.

Gluing Tips:
Draw an almost a barn door construction or an ‘X’ in a box - just don't glue within a few mm of the edge to prevent spill / leakage.

Why this exists

Because Cloud doesn’t live in a cheap magnetic or snap box and because you asked for it.
This is for FFVII fans, Commander players, Collectors, Display shelf builds, “One deck, one box” showcase pieces.
