Description
This is the first project I'm officially releasing to the community. I wanted to recreate the classic Mid-Century Modern look in a full-scale piece of furniture that stands 550mm tall while remaining printable on a standard desktop machine.
The nightstand features the iconic flared legs typical of MCM design, which are always lovely to look at and give the piece its characteristic silhouette. On the top surface, I’ve incorporated a "Sunrise" pattern that aesthetically blends the top surface seam lines into the design, making the assembly look like a deliberate geometric inlay.
To make a piece of this scale possible, the model is broken down into 16 parts:
The entire project is designed to be superglued into place. During assembly, you will find that some connections are a snug friction-fit, while others are notched into place without a noticeable "snugness." This is normal and intentional. The variation is incorporated into the design to help with alignment as you join the pieces.
Just a heads-up: this is a filament-expensive print. Because it is a functional piece of furniture, it requires a significant amount of material.
