Dynamic Brackets & Profiles: The Ultimate Structural Generator (One or Two colors!)
Boost MeIf you find it useful! ..Thank you & have a great day! :)
I designed this tool as a quick way to generate hardware for anything from simple furniture repairs to custom hobby projects, without needing to open CAD software or even know how to use it.
Key Features
- Fully Parametric: Adjust length, width, height, and wall thickness to suit any load requirement.
- Dynamic Holes: Customize hole diameters and quantities (if needed)
- Multi-Profile Support: Customize the parameters to get the profile you need
- Built-in Strength: Optional supports can be toggled to provide maximum rigidity
- No need to add supports
How to Use the Generator
1. Define Dimensions
- Main Body: Adjust internal_length (the base) and internal_web_height (the vertical rise).
- Thickness: Set the thickness for the main body and flange_thickness for the mounting lips. I recommend at least 2mm.
- Flange Angle: Use the flange_angle slider to create a tapered or "stepped" end on your flanges for a cleaner aesthetic or specific fit.
3. Configure Mounting Holes
No need to do math! The script features Dynamic Spacing:
- Set the number_of_holes you need.
- Adjust holes_diameter (e.g., 3mm for M3 screws, 5mm for M5).
- The script will automatically center and space the holes perfectly across the length of your bracket.
4. Add Heavy-Duty Reinforcement
If your bracket needs to hold significant weight:
- Toggle use_heavy_support to True.
- This adds a triangular gusset (rib) between the web and the flange.
- Adjust heavy_support_thickness to match your stress requirements.
- Probably you want to remove the holes in this case
