Stainless steel bottles have to be best vessels for hydration, but they are so easily dinted if you happen to drop them. Not many bottles come with protective bumpers unfortunately, so I came up with a quick and simple design that is customizable.
I printed my prototype with TPU95A so you could print this on just about anything!
How to print
- Firstly, measure your bottle diameter. This design suits straight walled cylindrical bottles only
- In the customizer enter bottle diameter and choose a thickness of the bumper, I have chosen 3mm though I would suggest a thickness of at least 2mm for effectiveness
- If you want to save on materials you may change the BottomDiameter parameter, be sure to leave enough for the bottle to stand on
- Change the Height to suit your needs. If you would like a bumper ring near the top of your bottle, increase height and slice the part in Bambu Studio to create the part and arrange on your plate
Notes
- Be sure to follow the recommended guidelines for printing with TPU
- I used a biqu glacier plate with some glue stick and printed with elegoo TPU 95A which was dried as per the manufacturers specifications
- If your bottle already has corner dings and deformations it will affect the fit of the part to your bottle
