Space Racers - Precision shooter + 2x space ships

Love a quick print and a fun race? These small racing spaceships are under 3 cm (1.18 inches), and the included precision shooter can launch them up to 4 meters (13 feet) on a flat, smooth surface. The long range shooter can get you up to 10 meters (33 feet).

Use the precision, short-range, and long-range shooters to build a track with whatever you have, and let the race begin. For example, a book can add an interesting angle to navigate, and a pair of cups can serve as the finish line.

This package includes the high-precision spaceship shooter. You have full control over how far the spaceships will fly, though the range is not extreme. Unlike traditional long- or short-range shooters, this one uses a rubber band to add traction, making the flight controlled and satisfying.

Printing the space ships
The shooter is print-in-place and requires no supports. For extra strength, print it with 4 walls/perimeters.

The spaceships also require no supports. You do not need AMS or MMS for the color swap—just add a color change in your slicer.

Needed parts, beside filament 

• Optional 3x 4.76mm (3/16") steel balls per space ship. These make the spaceships slide very well. They are optional, but more fun to use.
• 1 standard rubber band

How to assemble the space ships

1. Place one steel ball on the table at a time
2. Press-fit it into the base of the spaceship

Printing the shooter

This is an fairly easy print. But there is a long bridge. I think most printers will handle it well. If not, you will need to add support. 

A lot of infill is not needed, but the shooter will be stronger if you set the perimeter/walls to 3-4.

How to assemble the shooter

1. Attach the rubber band to the left arm
2. Move the rubber band through the holes behind the shooting arm
3. Attach the rubber band to the right arm

How to fire

1. Place the shooter on a flat, smooth surface
2. Fit a space ship to the front of the shooting arm
3. While firmly holding the shooter, carefully drag the arm as far back as you want
4. Slip the arm, and the ship will fire away

Simple game rules

• The game is turn based
• You are always allowed to move an obstacle, to be able to shoot
• The obstacle must be put back at the approximately same location
• The one who crosses the finish line first is the winner
• Each player must have the same amount of turns - If first player crosses the line before the second player, the second player has one more turn 
• If all players crosses the finish line at the same time, the one who got farthest is the winner

You may do a variant where it is not allowed to move any obstacle. Then you just have to shoot your way back to the track.

Long Range shooter

Shoots a very long distance. Maybe around 10 meters (33 feet).

Precision shooter (Included)

This acts both like a golf putter and a powerful shooter. Use this when you need great control on how far the spaceship should go. The precision shoot has a great range of around 10 centimeters to 4 meters, on a flat surface.

Notes

• This is meant to be shot at a flat surface. Does not work well in the air.
• This is not a toy for small children. It does shoot quite aggressively!
