RFID Tag Cardboard Spool Clip

I made this for the Snapmaker U1. But maybe other printers can benefit from these as well? let me know!)

This model is a simple clip for rewritable RFID tags, designed to work with cardboard filament spools.

Stick your RFID tag onto the round face of the clip and clip on the cardboard spool. You only need one tagged clip per spool. If you want the tag on the opposite side of the spool, just pull off the clip and move it to the other side.

When printing directly from a filament dryer or external spool holder, you can remove the clip from the spool and press it onto the spool holder (see example photo). Slowly rotate the holder by hand while the printer auto‑loads the filament so the RFID reader can scan the tag.

Print Settings

• Material: PETG recommended (for flexibility and durability)
• Adhesion: use a brim for reliable bed adhesion
• Supports: not required
• Note: printing multiple clips at once (around 5 or more) is generally more time‑efficient than printing single pieces.
