Destined Sunset – Sora & Kairi (Kingdom Hearts)

My take on the iconic scene from Kingdom Hearts as Sora and Kairi watch the sunset over Destiny Islands.

The Story behind the Design Kingdom Hearts fueled my love for video games as a child. To me, this scene perfectly depicts the enduring love between two friends. While their world changes and they are pulled apart, Sora and Kairi's bond remains the heart of the series. This piece represents the quiet beginning of that lifelong story.

I wanted a clean look, so Sora and Kairi are shown as clean silhouettes against the warm orange, yellow, and purple of the sunset. There is a layered effect to signify the transition of the colors of the sunset.

This prints as three plates. The sunset image has a cut out for the silhouettes so that the pieces fit snuggly and create a 3D pop-out effect to add depth. There's also a thin frame to fit the scene into, but you can forgo the frame if preferred.

This can be printed without AMS. Just had pauses where the color changes are. You can do this in the slicer.
