A fully customizable, print-in-place friendly telescopic stick! Whether you want a cool collapsed baton, a long pointer, or just a satisfying fidget toy, this OpenSCAD model lets you generate exactly what you need.
This design uses tapered sections to ensure each stage catches firmly on the next when extended, creating a friction lock.
🎨 Customization Guide
This model is completely parametric. You can adjust:
- cylinder_shape: Change the shape of the stick!
- 100 = Smooth Cylinder
- 6 = Hexagon
- 3 = Triangle (Pyramid stick!)
- 4 = Square
- num_stages: How many telescoping sections do you want? (Default: 3)
- length: Total height of the stick when collapsed.
- dia_reduced: Control how much the diameter shrinks with each stage.
- inner_diameter: The starting size of the handle.
- wall_thickness & clearance: Fine-tune for your printer's tolerances.
🖨️ Printing Recommendations
- Material: PLA, PETG, or ABS.
- Infill: 15-20% Grid or Gyroid for strength.
- Walls: 2-3 walls are recommended for durability.
- Orientation: The file is pre-rotated to print upside down (handle up) for best results, or you can print it standing up.
- Supports: No supports needed! The nested conical design prints perfectly without them.
