Description

Dual 3.5" HDD + Dual 2.5" SSD 10-inch Rack Mount (1U Remix)

This is a remix of a 10-inch rack mount originally designed for two 3.5" HDDs. While the original design was functional, I noticed there was a significant amount of unused space. I have modified the model to include two additional 2.5" SSD slots, allowing you to mount a total of four drives in a single 1U space. Great for NAS!

Features

  • High Density: Fits 2x 3.5" Hard Drives and 2x 2.5" Solid State Drives.
  • 1U 10-inch Standard: Fits perfectly into smaller network racks and cabinets.
  • Improved Airflow: I’ve kept the spacing optimized to ensure that the 3.5" drives can still breathe while the SSDs are tucked into the previously wasted space. But watch the temps!
  • Easy Mounting: Standard screw holes for both HDD and SSD form factors.

Print Settings

To ensure the mount is strong enough to hold the weight of two mechanical drives, I recommend the following:

  • Material: PETG or ASA (Recommended for heat resistance if your rack gets warm), though PLA+ works for cooler environments.
  • Infill: 25-40% (Gyroid or Grid).
  • Walls: 3–4 wall loops for structural integrity around the rack ears.
  • Supports: Depending on your printer's bridging capabilities, minimal supports may be needed for the SSD slots.

Changes Made

  • Redesigned the internal frame to accommodate two vertical/side-mounted 2.5" SSDs.
  • Reinforced the mounting points to handle the slight increase in weight.
