Description
Hey everyone! Remember my Gymnastics Rings? This is the second project in my indoor kids gym series. After the rings worked out so well, I wanted to add more variety. The rope ladder adds a different climbing challenge that my kids absolutely love.
The project consists on 3D printed steps that you thread onto climbing rope to create a ladder. Print as many as you need, thread them on rope, tie knots below each ladder, and hang it up.
The shared profile works good for PETG or ABS. Feel free to use other strong materials, but don't use PLA!!!
I'm 80kg and gently tested the ladder by stepping on it; it held fine, but I designed them for kids so I did not stress test it for adults.
My children use them regularly and they've held up great.
Step 1: Print as many steps as you wish (I printed 6 on a 2.5m wall spaced approximately 30 cm)
Step 2: Get proper climbing rope
Step 3: Thread rope through holes, tie secure knots below each step, space them evenly
Step 4: Hang on solid support, using proper hardware accordingly to your support
Step 5: Safety check everything, add mats below, supervise use
I suggest to print on a textured PEI plate! The textured side (installed on top side of the ladder) provides excellent grip for kids' feet, making the steps safer and easier to use.
I made this for my kids and I supervise them closely. Use common sense and test responsibly.
Happy printing and stay safe! 🧗♂️
