Description
Parametric LED Cover Lens for electronics projects. Use this to allow light to pass through your designs from LEDs inside project boxes.
Print in transparent filament, insert into the hole and then firmly press filament in the back, clip the remaining filament off to secure it in place.
Click on the Customize button, then change the variables on the left until you are satisfied with the design seen in the cross section. Then when you download the design, the download will contain a normal geometry (no cross section of measurements).
You can make this cover from holes of 4mm up to 5mm diameter, thicker is theoretically possible but the design does not allow it because the inserted filament will have less influence on the design, it might not hold.
You can enter a panel thickness of .5mm to 8mm but I recommend you stay away from extremes. A thickness of 1.5mm to 5mm should be okay. Anything above 2mm will have extra cutouts to allow more flexibility.
You can set the height of the protruding top from .5mm to 8mm, go nuts.
You can change the style of the protruding part, you can make it a simple cylinder shape, or a chamfered cylinder, or you may make the entire top chamfered to a smalled diameter, then you can still add on one additional layer of chamfering to make the cover appear more rounded without introducing an impossible print geometry (rounded bottom edges are hard to print cleanly).
Boost MeDesigns like this take many hours and lot's of test prints to get right. Supporting me with boosts motivates me to make more of these designs.
