It improves filament routing from the spool to the extruder, reducing sharp bends, drag, and inconsistent feeding — especially useful with PLA, silk PLA, and TPU.

The guide mounts securely to the printer frame and uses a smooth PTFE insert to keep filament movement consistent during fast direction changes.
