Streamline your painting workflow with this all-in-one compact station.
Designed for modelers, miniature painters, and artists, this organizer solves the problem of a cluttered desk by combining all your essential tools into one printed unit.
Key Features:
📱 Phone Stand for References: The central panel is designed to hold your smartphone securely. This is perfect for displaying reference images (as shown in the photo) right in front of you while you paint, without taking up extra space.
Pro Tip: If you aren't using your phone, the slot doubles as a secure horizontal rest for your active brush.
💧 2-in-1 Water Tank & Storage: The side container serves a dual purpose:
Rinse Cup: Use it as a water basin for cleaning your brushes.
Storage Box: When you are finished, it fits several tubes of acrylic paint or accessories for easy storage.
🎨 Integrated Palette Lid: The hexagonal mixing palette is custom-fitted to sit on top of the water tank. It functions as a lid, allowing you to pack your supplies inside the tank and close it up for a neat, dust-free look.
🖌️ Advanced Brush Management:
Vertical Storage: Multiple rear slots keep your brushes upright to protect the bristles and help them dry correctly.
Horizontal Rests: Front ridges provide a safe place to rest wet brushes momentarily, preventing them from rolling off your table.
Why print this? It is the perfect companion for painting, D&D miniatures, or scale models. It keeps your water, palette, brushes, and reference images organized in a small footprint.
Option A: Two-Part Assembly (Highly Recommended)
This version splits the base into two separate components.
Why choose this: It significantly reduces the need for complex supports and ensures a much cleaner surface finish on the overhangs.
Assembly: The parts are designed with precise tolerances for a snug fit. A few drops of superglue (CA glue) will make the connection permanent and rock-solid.
Option B: Single-Piece Print (Not Recommended)
I have also provided a version where the entire base is a single, solid model.
Warning: While it avoids the need for gluing, it requires extensive support material for the brush rests and internal cavities.
🔧 Technical Recommendations
Waterproofing: For the water reservoir, I recommend using 3 or 4 wall loops (perimeters). This ensures the container is 100% watertight without needing post-processing.
💡 Why I Designed This
As a hobbyist, I was tired of knocking over my water cup and losing my phone under a pile of paint tubes. I created this to consolidate the four most important elements of painting—Reference, Water, Paint, and Brushes—into a single, sleek, and space-saving footprint.
Enjoying the model? If this station helps your workflow, please consider uploading a photo of your setup! I’d love to see what you’re painting.
