Description
Snowskate with skateboard bearing supported glide skies.
This snowskate combines a traditional wooden skateboard deck with a custom-designed glide system developed specifically for snow use. Instead of conventional wheels, the deck is mounted on specially shaped ski runners that allow smooth gliding over snow and icy surfaces.
The system integrates 8 standard 608 bearings in total. These bearings are not used to create rolling motion like a traditional skateboard. Instead, they allow the ski modules to pivot and articulate relative to the deck, enabling controlled movement and improved surface adaptation during turns and uneven terrain.
Each glide module uses 2 standard 608 bearings, and with 4 modules, the complete setup requires 8 bearings in total.
Custom-designed, 3D-printed spacers have been developed to ensure:
The bearing-supported articulation allows the ski runners to move smoothly and independently while maintaining stability and directional control. Using widely available 608 bearings ensures easy maintenance and replacement without proprietary components.
This design merges classic deck geometry with a mechanically refined glide interface, creating a responsive and adaptable snowskate system for snow conditions.
