I’ve been cranking out a bunch of custom cutting boards lately, and after a few people asked for recessed handles, I put together these reusable router templates to make the job quick and consistent.

They let you pick the handle width and how deep you want the recess, so you can dial in the exact look you like.

• Size: 8" × 4" × 3/8" thick
• Setup: Stick it down with double‑sided tape—there’s lots of surface area, so your router stays nice and stable
• Handle widths: 3" and 4" options
• Depth choices: Four versions from 5/8" to 1", depending on how far you want the handle cut into the board
• Easy alignment: Built‑in center point so you can line it up with your board’s centerline without fuss
