Description

This is a super simple book press for small homemade notebooks approximately the size of a quarter of a sheet of US letter-sized paper, or about 5.5 x 4.25 inches.

It requires the following hardware:

  • 2x M6 Bolt - 1 per knob
    • I used M6x30mm, but the plates combined are around 12mm thick on their own. You might need longer bolts for thicker text blocks.
  • 2x M6 Washer - 1 per knob (Optional; you can get by without them)
  • 4x M6 Nut - 2 for the bottom plate and 1 per knob
  • Super glue (CA glue) - To permanently secure the bolts, nuts, and washers without adding thickness.

The included profile uses gyroid infill, since cranking the knobs down too much will pretty much always bow the plates. I also like to use small plastic clamps from the art store to apply pressure to the middle, since the plastic plates are not as sturdy as something like a traditional wooden press. You can also print two or three presses to distribute pressure more evenly.
