This is not your average wine glass.

 

The Greedy Wine Glass is a fun physics-based trick glass: if you pour too much wine, the glass will automatically empty itself through the stem.

 

The secret is a hidden siphon mechanism inside the glass. Once the liquid level reaches a certain height, the siphon activates and drains the entire glass.

 

It’s a classic science experiment turned into a fun 3D printable party trick. Perfect for surprising guests, teaching a bit of physics, or reminding people that greed sometimes has consequences.

Printing

The model is designed in three parts:

 

• The wine glass
Printed in one piece.

• The siphon mechanism
Printed separately and split into two halves so it can be printed without supports.

• Assembly required after printing.

 

No supports should be needed for any part if oriented correctly.

Assembly

Assembly is quick and simple.

1. Glue the two halves of the siphon together.
   A guiding groove is included to help align the parts perfectly.
2. Insert the siphon into the bottom of the glass.
   It is designed to clip directly into place inside the recessed slot.
3. Optional:
   You can add a small amount of glue for extra strength, but this is not required.

Once assembled, the mechanism is ready to work.

Fill the glass normally…
But if you pour past the limit, the glass will empty itself automatically through the stem.
