Standard 3D prints aren't enough for specialty coffee. These Barista Vault Vials are engineered for performance, featuring specialized caps designed to house a one-way degassing valve. This allows $CO_2$ to escape from fresh-roasted beans while preventing oxygen entry—preserving your single-dose flavors longer.
🧪 Optimized for Clarity (See Photos)
In the gallery, I have provided examples of different finishes to show what is possible:
- Translucent Teal: Includes side-by-side photos of the raw print vs. the epoxy-finished version. The epoxy provides "glass-like" transparency and a 100% food-safe seal.
- Ultra Clear: Check out the vials with the internal stickers. This demonstrates the transparency achieved through the tuned flow and temperature settings in this profile.
🎨 Modular Organization
To maximize your workflow efficiency, I recommend printing your Vial Caps in different colors to match your Barista Vault: Card Holders. This allows for instant visual identification of different roasts or brew dates.
🔩 Cap & Thread Technicals (Optimized Plate Settings)
The caps are located on a separate plate within the same profile to ensure the mechanical threads and valve housing function perfectly. Note: This plate uses a different layer height than the vials.
- Layer Height: Fixed at 0.16mm. This resolution is required for the threads to be smooth and engage correctly with the vial.
- Optimized Support Settings: I have fully tuned the Tree Support settings. If you use my profile without modification, the supports are designed to simply pop off, leaving a clean finish for the valve to seat into.
- Pro-Tip (PETG + PLA): I printed these in Bambu Lab PETG HF. For the absolute cleanest support surface inside the valve housing, use PLA as your Support Interface material. They will not bond, allowing the supports to snap away effortlessly.
- Customization Tip: I recommend printing a single cap first to test the fit. If you need to adjust settings, switch your slicer view to "Objects"—you will then see the specific plate/object settings. If you want to print more than one, simply clone the object to maintain the tuned settings.
⚙️ Vial Body Print Settings (Read Carefully)
The vial bodies require specific volumetric logic to ensure they are gap-free and clear.
- Stick to the Profile: I have tuned dozens of settings for this print. I highly recommend using the provided Print Profile without modification.
- Filament Warning: Critical settings (Flow Rate and Temp) are stored in the Filament Settings of the 3mf. If you swap to a generic profile, you may lose these optimizations.
- Flow Rate: Tuned to 1.07 for maximum layer fusion and clarity.
- Temperature: Set to 268°C for perfect bonding.
- Cooling: Fan is OFF to ensure the strongest, clearest wall structure.
🛠️ Hardware Options
- Degassing Version: Fits standard 1-Way Degassing Valves.
- Solid Version: A "No-Degasser" top is included for those who don't require venting.
