🚀 Major Structural Update (V2)
This version is a complete ground-up redesign. While it maintains the same aesthetic, the internal logic has been rebuilt from scratch for maximum reliability and professional-grade customization.
🔧 What’s New: Solid Block Architecture
Previously, the module was created by stacking individual drawer units. This could sometimes lead to stability issues or mesh separation. The new version generates the body from a single solid block, with the drawer cavities "carved out" from the volume. This new approach is much more stable and reliable.
⚙️ Smart Parametric Control
The standout feature of V2 is the Input_Type system. You no longer need to do manual math; simply tell the model what your "target" is:
- Mode 1 (Default): Define the External Module size.
- Mode 2: Define the Internal Drawer size.
- Mode 3: Define the External Drawer size.
Key Parameters:
- Input_Type: Choose your calculation method (1, 2, or 3).
- User_Width / Length / Height: Your target dimensions.
- Drawers_quantity: Choose the number of drawers.
- Feet (0/1): Toggle the interlocking teardrop feet.
- Pins (0/1): Toggle corner slots for alignment pins.
- Handle_hole_Width: Adjust the horizontal width of the finger grip.
- Handle_hole_Height: Adjust the vertical height of the finger grip.
🦶 Improved Teardrop Feet
The interlocking system has been completely overhauled:
📌 Alignment & Connection
🚀 BETA: Slide-In Parametric Handle (With Label Slot)
Need an external handle? I've added a new experimental, slide-in handle option:
- Snug Fit: Slides directly into the existing drawer cutout, no glue required.
- Fully Parametric: Automatically scales to match your custom cutout dimensions.
- Label Recess: Includes a small front slot for paper or 3D-printed labels.
⚠️ This feature is in active Beta. Please test it out and share your feedback on fit and tolerances in the comments!
💡 Material & Print Tips
- Best Results with PLA: This model is designed for a smooth fit.
- A note on PETG/ABS: Some users have found that with materials like PETG, the walls can occasionally "bow" or warp slightly. Since the drawers need a straight rectangular opening to slide in and out easily, even a little bit of warping can make them stick. Stick with PLA for a hassle-free experience!

📝 Changelog & Updates
- V2.1.0: Introduced the 3-in-1 Input_Type dimensioning system (External Module / Internal Drawer / External Drawer).
- V2.1.1 (Current): Added two new parameters to customize the finger grip hole size. You can now scale the handle opening to perfectly match your custom drawer dimensions!
🛠 Coming Soon (Work in Progress)
I'm actively working on new features based on your feedback:
- Print-in-Place External Handles: To maximize internal space. This will replace the "finger grip" cutout, so you won't have to worry about your contents blocking your grip.
- Lightweight Geometry: New "cutout" patterns in the main structure to reduce filament use and print time without losing stability.
- Locking System: I am developing a locking mechanism to keep them securely closed (perfect for transport or mobile kits).
