Technical Specifications & Assembly
- Mechanical Stability: Designed as a two-part assembly for horizontal printing. This ensures that the layer lines run parallel to the desk surface, maximizing resistance against shear stress when loaded with heavy headphones.
- Connection: Parts are joined via integrated press-fit dowels. No adhesive required if your printer tolerances are calibrated.
- Compatibility: Optimized for desk thicknesses between 15mm and 18mm.
- Scalability: For thicker or thinner desks, use global scaling in your slicer. Note that scaling also affects the dowel tolerances.
Visual Customization
- Eye Inserts: The eyes are provided as separate STLs. This allows for a manual filament change (M600 or pause) during the print to achieve a multi-color look without requiring an AMS.
Note on Statics: The horizontal print orientation is a mandatory design choice to prevent the "clamping arm" from snapping along layer lines under constant tension.
