Universal Sink Stopper Parametric (Travel & Camping)
Stop letting a missing drain plug ruin your trip.
Whether you are in a remote campsite, a hotel room with a broken drain, or just need a reliable stopper for your home utility sink, this Parametric Universal Sink Stopper is the 15-minute solution. Designed for maximum suction and ease of use, it is a "must-have" for any travel kit or camping bin.
Key Features
- 100% Parametric: Use the "Customizer" to enter your specific drain diameter for a perfect fit every time.
- High-Traction "Hourglass" Handle: Designed for wet, soapy hands. The flared top and narrow neck provide a natural "finger-hook" grip to break strong suction without the need for a difficult-to-print hole.
- Self-Centering Suction Disc: The underside features a tapered plug that centers the stopper automatically, while the thin outer disc uses water pressure to create a watertight seal.
- Travel-Friendly: Lightweight and low-profile. If printed in TPU, it can be folded or squished into the corner of a bag and will pop back into shape instantly.
Printing Directions
For the best results and a truly waterproof seal, follow these settings:
- Recommended Material: TPU (95A) is highly recommended for its flexibility and grip. PETG is a secondary option for very flat surfaces.
- Wall Loops: 4 or more. This ensures the handle is structurally fused to the base and remains airtight.
- Infill: 100% (Solid). This adds the necessary weight to help the stopper stay submerged and ensures no air pockets are trapped inside.
- Layer Height: 0.16mm or 0.20mm. A smoother surface on the bottom disc leads to a better suction seal.
- Supports: None.
📐 How to Customize
- Measure the diameter of the drain hole you want to cover.
- Open the OpenSCAD file or use the MakerWorld Customizer.
- Adjust the Drain_Diameter to match your measurement.
- (Optional) Increase the Seal_Margin if you have a particularly uneven sink surface.
- Export your STL and print!
Pro-Tips for Users
- The "Water Seal": For the strongest suction, wet the bottom of the stopper before placing it over the drain.
- Multi-Color: If using a Bambu AMS, try printing the handle in a high-contrast color so it's easy to see through soapy water.
- Camping Tip: Use the narrow "neck" of the handle to tie a piece of paracord to your stopper. Loop the other end to the faucet so you never lose it in the gray water.
