Description

Here is my 3d printed flaming eagle guitar body. it’s inspired by the Gibson firebird but with a custom flaming eagle design. This is a fully playable electric guitar project, not just a prop.

Hardware & Parts I designed this body specifically to drop in the hardware and neck from the Bad Cat Instruments Firebird Style Builder Kit. You can grab the kit here: Bad Cat Instruments Builder Kit

If you use that exact kit, the neck pocket, bridge posts, and pickup routing are already set up to fit. You can use different parts, hardware, or another neck if you have them lying around, but just know they will probably require some modifications. You might need to sand the neck pocket, redrill holes, or tweak the 3d model to get the intonation and scale length right.

Print Settings (Important)

  • Material: PLA is NOT recommended. guitar strings put over 100lbs of tension on the body. regular PLA will warp over time and won't hold up, especially in a warm room. Use PETG, ABS, ASA, or a tough engineering filament.

Assembly Always test fit your parts before gluing anything or screwing it down. Make sure to pre-drill pilot holes for all your hardware screws so you don't crack the plastic.

Upload your makes if you print it, I'd love to see how they turn out!

Let me know if you you want me to make any other unique desings!
