Knipex Cobra XS EDC Kit

A compact EDC kit designed to carry the essential tools while taking up as little space as possible.

This design combines a Knipex Cobra XS, a mini ratchet, a magnetic bit rail, and a standard 60 mm bit extender into a pocket-sized organizer made for quick repairs and everyday use.

Retention System ⚙️

• The bit extender can be removed by pressing the hexagonal area, causing it to pivot and release easily
• The mini ratchet features dual retention:
  • Hexagonal retention through the bit holder itself
  • Additional pressure retention in the handle area to keep it securely in place
• The Knipex Cobra XS and the bits use magnetic retention
• In my testing, the magnetic force is strong enough to keep every tool securely in place even when shaking the kit

3D Printing 🖨️

This version only requires 1 print pause:

1. Single pause:
   • Insert the 4 magnets for the bit rail

After the pause, these magnets will become partially covered by the print, preventing them from falling out.

The other 2 magnets remain visible and can be inserted later once the print is finished.

• In my testing, PLA has worked well for everyday use
• However, PETG may offer better long-term durability in the pressure-fit retention areas
• Depending on your printer tolerances, a small drop of cyanoacrylate may help secure the magnets
