Twisted Cross-Stitch Box | Embroidery Organizer

Combine the dynamic geometry of 3D printing with traditional crafting! The Twisted Cross-Stitch Box is a unique parametric design where modern aesthetics meet functional utility.

The walls of the container smoothly rotate upwards, creating a striking twisted polygon structure that captures light beautifully. The project is topped with a flat, precision-fitted lid designed to act as a perfect canvas (grid matrix) for cross-stitch embroidery.

Why should you print this?

  • Twisted Parametric Design: The distinct spiral edges give this box a unique, dynamic look that stands out from typical flat-walled containers.
  • A Canvas for Creativity: The perforated lid allows you to stitch any design you like – from a classic butterfly to complex geometric ornaments.
  • Clean Print with No Supports: The overhang angles of the twisted walls are optimized to print flawlessly directly from the build plate – zero wasted filament, zero post-processing!
  • Perfect Custom Gift: Print the box, stitch a beautiful design on the lid, and gift it to a loved one as a unique, personalized handmade present.

Embroidery Tips

The grid layout on the lid fits standard embroidery needles (such as blunt tapestry needles) and regular cotton floss (mouline).

  1. Choose your motif (a colorful butterfly looks incredible against the geometric twisted shape).
  2. Use contrasting thread colors so your pattern stands out vividly against the filament color.
  3. Stitch your design using classic cross-stitches (X). Embroidering on a rigid 3D-printed lid is very stable and doesn't require an embroidery hoop!

Share Your Makes!

Every stitched lid makes a completely new project! Once you finish your box, take a nice product shot surrounded by your crafting tools (threads, needles, scissors) and upload it as a Make in the comments section. Let's see how creative you can get with this twisted organizer!
