Yoke-Style Guitar Capo

This is a 3D printable yoke-style guitar capo designed to provide even pressure across the strings while keeping a clean, low-profile shape around the neck. It is made for players who want a simple, functional capo that can be printed at home and customized with different material combinations.

The design uses rigid parts for the main body and flexible TPU contact parts/pads to help protect the neck and strings while improving grip. I included material-based print profiles so you can choose the version that works best for your setup.

 

Materials list:

• Main body: PLA or PETG
• Contact pads / flexible parts: TPU 85A
• 1x M3x10 Button Head Cap Screw (BHCS)
• 1x M2x10 Socket Head Cap Screw (SHCS)
• 1x M2x16 Socket Head Cap Screw (SHCS)
• 2x M2 Hex Nut

Printing notes:
For best results, print the rigid body in PLA for easier printing or PETG for better durability. TPU is recommended anywhere the capo contacts the strings or neck. Make sure the capo fits your specific guitar neck before relying on it for long sessions, since neck profiles and string height can vary between guitars.

 

Assembly/use:
Print the rigid body parts and TPU contact pads separately. I used super glue to attach the TPU pads to the main capo body. Apply a small amount of glue, press the TPU firmly into place, and let it fully cure before using the capo. Once assembled, test the fit gently on your guitar neck and adjust the position/pressure until the strings ring clearly without buzzing.
