Description
The second iteration of the AMS Speeder is here ! Designed for the P2 and X2 series, and still compatible with the AMS, AMS 2 Pro, and the AMS Flipper by Jakob_K_Design, this advanced mod aims to reduce filament loading times by shortening the PTFE tubes behind the printer, while also providing neat and clean cable management.
Faster Filament Changes: Used with shorter PTFE tubes, this holder cuts filament swap time by about 24 seconds, making your 3D printing process quicker and smoother.
Strong and Reliable: Although PTFE wear is slightly higher than usual, the better performance makes filament handling more efficient.
You can use the provided 3MF, no supports required.
For both main parts, I recommend using at least PETG to avoid deformation due to the chamber/AMS 2 Pro heat, and for the optional TPU seal, I recommend using TPU 95 HF.
As for the assembly, you will need to cut PTFE tubes. For that, carefully use a sharp cutter and make sure to cut it straight.
The PTFE tube lengths I recommend are :
For this mod to work, you will need an extension cable for the internal cable of the buffer. Don't worry, you will not have to open the back panel of the printer. You can order it here on Aliexpress : Buffer internal cable extension for AMS Speeder 2, thanks to the WEPRO team for their help !
Please note that this cable was made specifically for this mod, so it will work without any issues as long as it's installed properly.
For this step, don't hesitate to refer to the official Bambu Lab Wiki :
Make sure that the connector makes a “click” sound when you connect it !
Put the optional TPU Seal in the cover, and install the cover just as if it was the buffer, be careful to let the connector pass through !
Then use regular Bambu M3 machine screws to fix it in place.
Connect the buffer cable and the external exhaust one, and manage the cables using the cover slots, make sure that the buffer connector makes a “click” sound when you connect it !
Here are the ideal lengths for the tubes, feel free to experiment and make sure to cut them straight to avoid problems.
To see faster print times, update the Filament Load/Unload durations in the slicer (Bambu Studio → “Prepare” tab → Printer Settings → “Basic Information” tab → Filament Load/Unload Time).
You can adjust the load and unload times as needed, I personally use 8 seconds for each, which I’ve found to be optimal.
