Description
This model is a remix of the original Modular Hydroponic Tower and has been specifically designed to fit the IKEA FRÄKENVÄXT planter.
The main improvement is a dedicated lid that fits directly onto the FRÄKENVÄXT pot, eliminating the need for back plates, adapters, or additional mounting hardware.
✅ Direct compatibility with the IKEA FRÄKENVÄXT planter
✅ No brackets or counterplates required
✅ Clean and simple installation
✅ Fully compatible with the original modular tower components
✅ Perfect for herbs, lettuce, strawberries, and other small vegetables
✅ Suitable for both indoor and outdoor hydroponic systems
Simply print the lid, assemble your tower, and start growing!
This remix aims to make the original design even easier to build by providing a cleaner and more integrated solution for one of IKEA's most popular planters.
Boost MeIf you print it, please share your make and consider leaving a Boost. Every bit of support helps new projects grow! 🌱🚀Take the four lid sections and install:
Once all inserts are installed, screw the four sections together to form the complete lid.
⚠️ Important: Before tightening the last section, remember to route the pump's power cable through the dedicated opening if you use the plate 8 version).
After completing the lid assembly, place the water pump inside the planter. I recommend using this pump:
Connect a 3/4-inch (19 mm) hose approximately 20 cm (8 in) long from the pump to the bottom tower section (Plate 1).
The base module can then be screwed directly onto the planter lid.
Stack the middle sections (Plates 2 and 4) until you reach your desired height.
Finish the tower by installing:
Place a small piece of rockwool containing an already-rooted seedling into each container and fill the remaining space with expanded clay pebbles.
Start the irrigation system and enjoy your hydroponic tower!
💧 Daytime: 15 minutes ON every 2 hours
💧 Nighttime: 15 minutes ON every 3 hours
These timings work well in most conditions, but feel free to adjust them according to your climate, plant type, and season.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment and I'll be happy to help.
Happy gardening! 🌿🚀
