Hi, I thought it would be useful to include my basic replacement part for my EcoVac Deepbot mop that clumsily broke one day.
If you are like me and don't want to throw away plastic and would rather fix things I hope this is useful.
Some caveats to the print/fixing the mop:
You will need the following materials:
- Super glue - ideally not the cheapest but it will likely still work
- Hacksaw or similar saw
- Sandpaper - grit isn't too important just enough to remove and flatten old parts
- (Optional) Clamp for securing the replacement
Steps for replacement:
- Print model - ideally with PETG or other water resistant plastic (I'm sure PLA will be fine but I can't guarantee it)
- Saw off old component
- Sand remainder of plastic until it is mostly flat with the base
- Clean and apply a small amount of super glue.
- It will dry quickly so make sure you have it exactly where it needs to be
- Wait for it have a weak bond and optionally clamp it in place.
- Wait at least 24hours before using again.
- That's it!
