Description

I designed this to combat the direct exhaust airflow, which often creates whirlwinds and kicks up dust, this diffuser distributes air evenly in all directions, enhancing the functionality of your workspace. It's a simple compression fit, I've ran it for a half hour straight and it stays in perfectly. I printed it in PLA and it didn't affect the print at all. You could print it in PETG or ASA or something else if you'd like but I didnt find it necessary.

  • This should fit any shop vac that uses a 1.5" exhaust hose. Just measure the inner diameter of your vac’s outlet; if it's around 58mm, this diffuser will fight right in.
  • It has a total diffuser hole area of approximately 4756.00mm^2 against the exhaust port area of 2642.08mm^2, this diffuser ensures there is no backpressure to hinder your vac’s performance.
  • I liked the inner cone idea but I have no idea if it really increases efficiency. I think it just looks cool. The actual impact on airflow hasn't been tested with CFD software. If anyone has CFD software and runs a test please share your findings! I'd be very interested to see.
  • Note that the inlet may print with unusual rings probably due to fillet designs in the model. These do not appear in slicer previews and do not affect functionality.

I'm considering expanding this line to accommodate larger shop vacs. Interested in a custom size? Drop a comment with the inner diameter of your vac's exhaust port!

Ensure the inner diameter of your shop vac’s exhaust port is approximately 58mm for a perfect fit.

I'll also be uploading other attachments soon. I currently have a 1.5" hose end to 4" duct adapter. You'd use another hose attached to the exhaust and attach the adapter to the end of it. I have a 4" inline fan that exhausts outside of my house so I decided to go overkill and design this.
