Description

Here is a neat little visual reference depicting how a tiger's orange stripes actually aid in providing camouflage!

Why do tigers have orange and black stripes, when they live and hunt in grasslands?? Wouldn't their prey see the bright orange colors from far away and easily run off??

Would you be surprised to learn that prey animals that the tiger hunts are not able to see the color orange as humans see it; these animals are color-blind to orange. Rather, these prey animals interpret the orange photons as a greenish hue. Thus, our orange and black tiger becomes a green and black tiger! Sure enough, a green and black striped tiger blends in quite well with the natural tones of its hunting grounds.

This print is designed to be a key chain or luggage tag for backpack. I'm sure you can find additional uses!

Cheers! Never stop learning!
