Description

Propeller designer built in OpenSCAD

This propeller generator generates a propeller based on the 4 digit NACA series of aerofoils with loads of variables allowing you to create practically speaking any configuration of propeller, I highly recommend playing around with values to figure out what does what to the propeller.

This can create some very challenging models to print so I highly recommend checking the model meticulously before printing

If you're planning to fly an aircraft or drone using these props, the surface finish and strength of the part are essential, a rough surface on the prop will be the single biggest loss in efficiency of your plane, so I recommend sanding and priming until a smooth surface finish is achieved. 100% infill is also highly recommended for strength. PLA is fine for propellers, but other materials may work better depending on your print setup. ABS may be an idea, being able to be vapour smoothed, although I haven't tried this to be able to verify that.

Propellers with a very shallow pitch will be very difficult to print due to the overhang and very little room for support material.

Propellers will need balancing before mounting to any motor to ensure stability.

Make sure to stay safe when using props generated by this as they could break and cause injury

based on code written by Amatulic with a few adaptations for different propeller variations
