Description
This is a conversion kit for an awning in original was lowered by a crank using an old windscreen wiper motor. Fully integrated in both home assistant and Homey Via Shutterbox control unit.
Things i used:
Windscreen wiper motor MAPCO 90151 (but almost any will do) 25USD
230VAC to 12VDC converter stolen from an old router - 12VDC 5A (needs about 2A to torque a 5m long awning)
Control Module - Shutterbox DC v2 https://blebox.eu/en/product/shutterboxdc/ - The most important thing is that you find a control module (relay) with 12VDC and reverse polarity. You could however build with two circuts with two separate relays to simulate reversed polarity.
These motors are awsome for DIY with high torque and great reliability
