Roku Remote Case - EVEN NEWER VERSION!

How often has your Roku remote gotten lost in the cushions or disappeared on the floor in your darkened living room? How many times has the dog or the baby gotten hold of the Roku remote and tried to install SlingTV or Disney+ by pressing the channel shortcut buttons?

Here's the solution!

This case enlarges the Roku remote to make it more difficult to fall between the cushions or under the couch. It can be printed in bright colors (or even glow-in-the-dark filament) to make it easier to spot wherever it has landed in your dark entertainment room. It also has a hole to attach a leash if you really want to make sure it doesn't walk off.

UPDATE 2024-12-20: I've included both the “alternate” version of the cover that covers up the four “advertising” buttons so they can't be accidentally pressed and the standard version with all buttons exposed. The updated print profile has a plate for each cover type so you can easily choose which to print.

The housing and cover capture the remote in place using six M3 x 12mm long screws and six M3 brass thread inserts. There are hex nut shaped pockets to capture regular M3 hex nuts if you don't have thread inserts.  In that case, the screws to use will be M3 x 14-16mm long.

This fits the two different Roku remotes I have: ca. 2019 remote with “square” corners and ca. 2023 remote with more rounded corners with the channel buttons in a horizontal and vertical grid arrangement.  I do not know if it will fit the Roku TV remote with the channel buttons in a vertical column.

What's new in this version:

After getting thrown around and dropped a number of times by the toddler, the rather fragile threads in the thin cover gave out and the screws started falling out. For that reason, I changed the screws to thread in from the top (the screw heads are no longer hidden, oh well) and the threads are provided by M3 hex nuts, or if you prefer, melt-in brass inserts. The cover is also slightly thicker around the power button since that had cracked on mine.

UPDATE 2025-10-10: Per a request from a MakerWorld user, I've made a new version of the case for the rechargeable Roku remote. The case needed to be shortened by 25mm to give access to the USB-C charging port and a hole was added to the cover to make the charging light visible. There is a separate print profile for this rechargeable version. As before, I've included two versions of the cover: shortcut buttons covered (V1) and shortcut buttons exposed (V2). Since it's shorter, this version uses four screws instead of six.

UPDATE 2026-01-17: Per a request from a MakerWorld user, I've made a new version of the cover that simplifies use of the remote by leaving only the Power and Back buttons, and the Purple Select Pad exposed.  For now, I've only created this for the standard (non-rechargeable) remote. You can find this cover version in the print profiles.
