Fully Assemblable Golden Gun!

Rebuild the famous gun from the most acclaimed fps game of the 90s, based on the James Bond film GoldenEye. This replica Golden Gun prop is built transformer style from various constituent components based on the film. The Golden Gun is created from:

• A cigarette lighter
• A cigarette case
• A cufflink
• A pen

Once you've had the fun of constructing and deconstructing this prop piece, why not display it using the stand file that is included with the download. It looks great on a windowsill or bookcase

Assembly Guide

Note that magnets can be installed for more satisfying closure of the lids and for better locking of the mechanism.

5x 6x2 magnets are required - 2x cigarette case and 3x for the lighter.

1. Extend the insert from the lighter (note this may require some force e.g. pliers if this is the first time extending)
2. Unscrew the base of the pen
3. Screw the base of the pen into the lighter insert
4. Realign the pen lid
5. Open the cigarette case and align with the lighter insert
6. Click back into place
7. Insert the cufflink through the cigarette case lid and into the lighter insert - this locks everything into place
8. Open the lighter and insert the bullet

 

Printing Guide:

The .3mf file should have the objects orientated in a way that prints well, although there is some post processing required and removal of the supports. I found that printing with generic brand Silk PLA was quite difficult and may require some tweaking of files to get a good print quality.

 

For the stand, it is important to use a decent infill setting to ensure that it balances against the gun when placed in it. I used 25% but as a modifier in the leftmost portion only.

24/10/24 - An alternative orientation of the Lighter has been added which might help reduce print failures for some filament/printer combos
